Increased mkII assembler speed via shiverthorn coolant
Introduce the concept of cooling-reservoir level in mkII assemblers ( like the fuel bar for miners ). They can run without it, at current speed, but if there's coolant in ( which will be consumed over time of course ) then the machine would run at x2 speed ( or TBD ). This would also introduce another use for the Shiverthorn Coolant cyclinders, as recent recipe changes have got rid of a lot of usage opportunities for that in favor of the precursor Shiverthorn extract, so this would help with its use. Would add some more fun to factory layouts too, if people wanted to then add optional coolant feeding belts/inserters to existing setups.

SteI'm aware of that, but not everyone has insane numbers of cores. Currently there are some items like biodiesel that take quite a long time to make for instance, this was just a way of speeding things up and a new ( but optional ) game mechanic

stefandaI don't think 8000 cores (count as 10000 due to optimization) to make every machine run twice as fast is insane.

SteYeah but if you use that logic, that magic purple crystals in a cave several miles away can somehow make your construction machines run faster, then why did they even bother introducing red/mkII machines at all? They did so to at least have some semblance of reality/physics, as this is supposed to be a sci-fi game, not a fantasy one. Therefore making a machine optionally run faster via supplying coolant seems if anything more reasonable than magic-remote-crystals. </$0.02>. Anyway, it's the devs I'm interested in having see this, see what they think.

stefanda1. MK2 provides more advantages than speed. MK2 Assemblers can handle advanced recipes,, mk2 drills don't require fuel.
2. Core boost is a valid mechanic, introduced by the core game, unlocked in the tech tree. Why do you doubt their validity and brush it off as fantasy -

SteRight, it's a mechanical difference in the machine for 1., not just making the base assemblers make new recipes based on magic crystals elsewhere, they introduced new tech, that's the point. Hence the original suggestion. Not sure why you're arguing about this, not really relevant.

BlackMythBad idea since spamming cores is the intended way to upgrade speed. Future content will add more cores type
