Better handling of mixed assets in monorail depots

Right now, my factory has a problem where if 2 or more asset types are fed into a monorail, but one of those types is fed in at a higher rate than the others, eventually it ends up sending only that one item ( always picking from the first slots ), and the receiving station is completely full of that item only, making the other factories stall since asset types 2 or 3 etc are never sent. A simple solution would be to force the sending station to always try and send a different item than the last one sent, scanning forward through its internal slots to look for a different one before wrapping the 'pick from' point, rather than always picking from the same end, then sending the same asset type only if no other was inside. Optionally, make that a GUI switch, if people like the current system. This way machines at the other end would guarantee that all of them would get their asset types when available.
